Ramble: How My Love For Fashion Started

♡

Hi there!  I don't know how interesting this will be for you guys, but ever since I entered this fashion blogging world, I don't really notice anyone (please correct me if I'm wrong, which I probably am, but whatever) talking much if at all about their love for fashion.  I mean, it's probably supposed to be obvious, especially since they are fashion bloggers after all, but I'm curious.  How did it all start?  When did it all start?  Those are the two big questions I'm going to answer for you today because maybe there is one curious mind out there wanting to know the answer.

This post is going to be one of those posts that will hopefully allow you to get to know me a little bit better.  If you're interested, keep on reading!

I don't have any distinct memories of loving fashion as a kid.  Well, besides dressing my Barbies up 24/7 and playing on Stardoll.com and pretty much any dress-up site out there, I mean.  It's always been a part of me and I've always wanted to be a fashion designer when I grew up, but I always thought of it as a pipe dream, something unattainable and just stupid to hope for.

Then came the summer before eighth grade (last summer).  That summer was really something special for me because most of my friends were all out of town on vacations and I was pretty much just chilling in my room all day on my computer.  To be honest, I planned to do so many productive things that summer, but nothing actually happened, which kind of sucked, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  Anyway, on to the point.

Since I was alone a lot, I had a lot of time to think, particularly about my future and high school.  I was pretty torn on which high school I wanted to attend and all that because each high school that I had in mind would benefit me in a different way with their course selection.  There was (at the time, I discovered my choices later on in the year) a very academically-driven high school that offered the IB program, and an artsier high school that offered a specialised art program.  Both seemed very appealing to me, but of course, I could only choose one.  Which really made me think about what I wanted to do with my life.  I always thought that I'd become a doctor or something, but that was what other people thought I should do.  To be honest, I have tons of respect for anyone who wants to study anything like that, but I simple wasn't interested.  I really tried to find it interesting, but I've never like science.

So that left me pondering my childhood dreams.  As I'd mentioned before, I've always wanted to be a fashion designer.  And I thought that maybe, just maybe, that could happen.  I'll have another post up about dreams later on this summer if you'd like to read more about that stuff.

Anyway, when I realised that, I was just like, that's it!  And I was just so happy from that moment on.  I started doing research about all that stuff, discovered the Fashion Institute of Technology, a prestigious college in NYC, and immersed myself in fashion books and blogs and runway shows.  It was truly a spectacular summer and such an important realisation.

Are you as obsessed with fashion as I am?  How did your love affair with fashion start?  Do you enjoy these rambles?  I really enjoy writing them, but I want to know if you actually enjoy reading them.  Please leave me a comment down below sharing your thoughts!  Be honest!

Sorry if that post was a bit rambly for your taste, but if it wasn't, I hope that you enjoyed it!  Thanks for reading!
